Hands-on Brewing

his small and cozy coffee-making class takes place by a peaceful river in Hoi An, recreating the rustic lifestyle of the old Vietnamese countryside. Instead of roasting coffee beans from scratch, the class focuses on a practical and authentic approach by blending trusted Vietnamese coffee brands with consistent quality that can be found across the country. With the correct ratio and simple techniques, you will learn how to create a rich, aromatic coffee blend with notes of butter, chocolate, and traditional Vietnamese street coffee flavors. The experience begins with an introduction to the iconic Vietnamese phin filter and the different materials it is made from, such as aluminum, stainless steel, and ceramic, and how each one subtly affects taste. Participants then prepare coffee the traditional way by lighting a small wood fire and boiling water using firewood. This step is both a preparation process and a meaningful cultural experience that brings back the nostalgic charm of Vietnamese coffee making. During the class, you will brew and enjoy five Vietnamese coffee styles: Vietnamese iced black coffee (Cà Phê Đen Đá), bold and refreshing. Bạc xỉu, a sweet and milky coffee loved by many generations. Coconut coffee, served in a real coconut shell with hand-shaved ice. Egg coffee, featuring hand-whisked egg cream made using traditional tools. Salted coffee, a coastal specialty finished with a creative chocolate design.

Join our hands-on workshop to uncover the secrets behind Vietnam's famous brews. You'll learn the history, the proper way to use a traditional Phin filter, and how to whip up the perfect egg and coconut coffees.

Whether you are a casual drinker or a coffee aficionado, this class offers a rich, aromatic experience.
